One of import character in the movie ‘A knight’s tale’ directed by Brian Helgeland is William Thatcher. William helped me understand the thought of following your dreams. William dreams of one twenty-four hours going a knight. He grew up in a topographic point called Cheapside London with his male parent John Thatcher until he was sent off to work for Sir Ector. Sir Ector said that he had a spirit. When Sir Ector died. William thought that he could ‘change his stars’ at that point so he jousted in his topographic point. He so decided that with some preparation he could win money to feed all his friends.

As he did this he followed his dream of going a Knight. One Visual technique used to assist me see that William is of import is ‘close up’ . Brian uses a close up in the first tilt when William says ‘I have waited my whole life for this moment’ . This shows me that he has followed his dreams and he is making what he has wanted to make his whole life. Another technique used in this movie is illuming. This technique is effectual to demo he is an of import character because he is ne’er in the shadows.

William is ever dressed in light vesture and has fair hair giving the feeling that he was a good individual. unlike Adhemar who ever wore darker apparels and was more in the shadows than William. An illustration of this is when William was in the gaol room and Adhemar walked in. William was standing in the lone visible radiation in the room and Adhemar was in the shadows. In decision. the character of William Thatcher was of import because he teaches us to follow our dreams no affair how large they are and that anything is possible. The techniques that helped me to understand this thought were ‘lighting’ and ‘close up’s’ .
