The internship intends
to give a chance to explore the knowledge between the theoretical aspects with
the practical field work by doing the project which will serve to finish the
internship experience. It also helps me to know and gain experience in the
specific field or industry.

The study period of internship done at BOSCH INDIA included
in understanding the work culture, procedures, policies followed for inventory
control. The data analysis was tabulated and analysed and presented to the
guide for approval and then final report was prepared and submitted.

providing services that will help meet the stringent emission norms of the
future. The in-line fuel injection pumps of Bosch could cater to the full
spectrum of diesel engines starting from small fixed instalments to large earth


(BanP) involves in the manufacturing and production of fuel injection pumps.
These fuel injection pumps differ from one and another depending upon the
number of cylinder installed in them. Pumps can have cylinder of two and can go
up to having six cylinders. Fuel injection involves a lot of indirect materials
such as,

products are not manufactured by the Bosch but depends on the other vendors.
These products become the raw materials of the company.

1.      VENDOR

    Vendors in Bosch are the traders or
manufactures who either manufacture or supply raw materials which is needed in
the manufacturing of Fuel injection pumps. Raw material such as Bearings,
Nozzles, Delivery values, Elements are being supplied by vendors. These raw
materials come from vendor daily basis and are kept in stock. Every vendor must
have the proper documents for the materials supplied.



2.      RAW

materials from the vendors enter in to the BAY which is divided in to two
section, where in one section involves in unloading of the goods that will be
arrived from the vendors and the other section involves in loading of the goods
to the required vendors.

materials entering the BAY must have the proper documentation from the vendor
containing the details of the product, number of items, price of the product.
Raw materials which are defective will be sent back to vendor for replacement.
Raw materials which are near to expiry or expired will be sent to scarp zone.

3.      WORK

floor is a place where there will be small shops involving in the production of
fuel ignition pumps. Each shop will be provided with the materials they need
from the materials bought from the vendors. Each fuel pumps might require a
minimum of one hour to be a finished good. These finished goods will be later
sent for packaging. Packing takes place as per the need of the companies either
it will within the country or will be exported.

machine involved in manufacturing of pump will have MAZE. Maze is a workshop
for the machines which is involved in manufacture of pumps. Any problem with
the machines will be repaired from the MAZE.

case the company backs off after giving the order, the manufactured pumps on
the specific company will be kept in warehouse and when there is a request from
the company they will be sent back to the respective company.

4.      FINISHED

final product that is the fuel ignition pump will be sent directly to the
companies and from the company to the third party sellers or to the warehouse.

the raw materials are converted into finished goods, it’s the duty of inventory
manager and his team to check the materials produced are available in the
warehouse as per the entry made in systems( SAP Software)

Counting: Takes place on Regular basis.

Counting is process of counting the products available in the warehouse. It is
usually done for fast moving products than for slow moving items.

for the use or sale using labour and          machines, tools, chemicals and
biological processing, or formulation. The term may refer to a   range of human activity, from handicraft to
high tech, but is most commonly applied to industrial production in which raw
materials are converted into finished goods on large scale.

Manufacturing process is
the steps in which the raw materials can be transformed into final product. The
manufacturing sector mainly belongs to engineering and industrial design.
