For example, if the dominant focus of the mission statement is “the customer comes first” and employees (in an expressively intense way) believe this (these are essentials of organizational culture) then it is unbearable for the company to make a prospect set of goals based on earning at the expense of their clients. This is not ethical, and it is not customer centric. As a result, the long-term goals are in- sync with the values of the company.

Managers within this outline should permit employees to act without restrictions and with as little supervision as possible. Lack of too much over employee activities frees up a managers time. As such managers can then focus on larger business issues like kind and giving/taking good care of and propagating the company vision. Furthermore, it forces the employee to be complete. The only bad thing and disadvantage are that employees must be brought up to speed quickly. But after this initial training period significant benefits will start building up. It is in this way that the company will complete all of its stated goals.

One statistic of standards is the frequency of complaints received from customers. Clearly this occurrence is strongly related to the practices of the group. There are many other statistics. The best way to get a control on these is to put into use habitually scheduled assessments, in which employee activities are scrutinized to determine if any values disruptions occurred.

If this is done then remedial action can be determined. Ethical behavior is not only a matter of good laws or of good people; both are necessary. Internal auditors must, therefore, depend on both (following the law/doing as you are told)- and integrity-based strategies to make sure of ethical business environments. (Following the law/doing as you are told)-oriented strategies define the edges/borders that management has decided will not be angered. These edges/ borders, which must be communicated and demonstrated by management, establish zero-tolerance policies and punishes for violations. “(Ellison, 1999)
