To what extent does Phonon Peen’s land use fit an existing land use model? Introduction The Kingdom of Cambodia capital Phonon Penn had its first town planners in 1923. However, the models to which the city is to be compared to are derived from already developed capitals, unlike Phonon Penn. Meaning it is most unlikely that the capital will match the models completely.

Firstly the transect survey will display the land use, starting from the center of the capital. Furthermore, an evaluation of the models will determine the correspondence of the city, to the models. To a foreigner Phonon Penn is a very confusing city. The capital’s street number although somewhat organized do not follow a sequential pattern. In most cases there are street numbers missing. This paper is may play a significant part of the Phonon Penn future arbitration and planning as it will help provide a more organized view of the city.

It is used by biologists to obtain survey however, is somewhat different. The Urban transect survey is conducted ranging from urbanely dense areas to the less populated, rural areas. With it I’ll be able to classify the similarities and different land uses within the transect range. This map displays the area surveyed. This was a north to south, and east to west Urban transect survey. The survey was conducted to measure the occupational areas within Phonon Penn. I made an educated guess on Phonon Peen’s Central Business District (CB), to use as a center point of the survey, the Independence monument. The CB was selected by identifying the characteristics typically found in a CB. In this case the spread of tall buildings in Phonon Penn made it hard to determine the area containing the tallest buildings.

Therefore it was more accurate to put emphasis on the presence of monuments than that of tall buildings. After selecting the center point of the transect survey, I also chose the scale in which it was to be conducted in. Due to lack of “man-power” and time constraint, I chose only to do it within a 2 kilometer range from the CB. The transect survey was measured two kilometers north, south, east and west of the CB. When collecting the data, in order to obtain a more accurate measurement I used a meter trundle wheel.

With the trundle wheel and a compass directing me (north, south, east or west) I walked two kilometer in the respective direction, however stopping exactly every 250 meters to survey my surroundings. These were the land classification key used for the land use sample table I made to make the transect survey: High Class Residential I Middle Class Residential I Low Class Residential I Slums I Shop I Offices I Parks I Recreational I Light Industry I Heavy industry I Monument I Figure 2 The data will be displayed in the same order as map figure displaying the direction of the data collected.
