Ginger Is a tropical plant that was spread around the tropical world during the colonial days. In Africa, Asia, or South America, and many hot spots between those continents, locals have taken to using ginger widely in medicine and food. The entire ginger family is rich in oils that both kill micro-critters and stimulate the immune system to do the same. The ways it stimulates the body are many, and. Whether added to food or taken as a medicinal tea, ginger makes your body a little bit stronger and a little bit better ND able to resist the damaging forces of nature. The ginger is one of the materials needed to make the organic insecticide. It is chopped and since its oils can kill micro- ‘ OFF which is the one that kills the insects when made contact. And if you put the ginger and vinegar together and put them in a spray bottle you will create the organic insecticide. And when you tested it is effective on many insects. Just spray on an insect and you will see the results.
Many insecticides are made today. And most of them are made with toxic chemicals which can harm the environment. This product that I am going to make is safe and good for our environment since there are no toxic chemicals it is cheap and easy to make and also to use. This is can also prevent a allergic into your respiratory system which is probably in cause of the odor of an ordinary insecticide. Chapter 1- Background of the Study Statement of the Problem 1 Which of the trials are most effective on insects? 2 What will happen to the insects because of the insecticide? What kind of insects will it kill? 4 Is it safe on plant also? 5 What will happen if it is used on them? Hypothesis The first trial is the most effective among the 4 trials because there is more ginger 2 The insects will be killed. 3 It kills ants, flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches. 4 Yes, because the ginger is also a plant so when you put it into the another plant it will not harmed. 5 The plants will not get harmed or damaged and it will be also insect-free. Significance of the Study This project will make an organic insecticide using vinegar and ginger, instead of using toxic chemicals.
So, the researchers decided to create this nature-friendly substance. Since, our environment is at stake because of pollution. One of these pollutions is on air which is also caused by insecticides and pesticides which have harmful chemicals. And in order to lessen the problem of air pollution, the researchers have made this organic insecticide. Scope and Limitation of the Study Vinegar is a liquid substance consisting mainly of acetic acid and water, the acetic acid being produced through the fermentation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria.
It is today’s mainly used in the kitchen as a general cooking ingredient, but historically, as the most easily available mild acid, it had a great variety of industrial, medical, and mommies uses, some of which such as a general household cleanser are still promoted today. Commercial vinegar is produced either by fast or slow fermentation processes. In general, slow methods are used with traditional vinegars, and fermentation proceeds slowly over the course of weeks or months. The longer fermentation period allows for the accumulation of a nontoxic slime composed of acetic acid bacteria.
In fast production processes, vinegar may be produced in a period ranging from 20 hours to three days. And ginger or ginger root is the rhizome f the plant Zingier officinal’s, consumed as a delicacy, medicine, or spice. It lends its name to its genus and family Gingerbread. Other notable members of this plant family are turmeric, cardamom, and gallant. These two studies come up to make an organic insect killer. The limitation of the researchers’ study is that the study couldn’t be made more effective since the time given wasn’t enough.
If there was more time the researchers would have the advantage of making more experiments on the study. Definition of Terms 1 Insecticides- are used against insects including voices and larcenies. Chapter al- Review of Related Literature Our product is all organic and since it is safe to use and effective it is a great replacement on those toxic insecticide. Ginger and vinegar are the main ingredients or materials of our product. Ginger has oils that can help kill insects and vinegar as well has acid that can also kill insects. That’s why this project is much usable for you especially when it comes to gardening. Ginger is a herb. The rhizome or its underground stem is used as a spice and also as a medicine.
It can be used fresh, dried and powdered, or as a Juice or oil. Ginger is commonly used to treat various types of “stomach problems,” including motion sickness, morning sickness, colic, upset stomach, gas, diarrhea, nausea caused by cancer treatment, nausea and vomiting after surgery, as well as loss of appetite. Other uses include pain relief from arthritis or muscle soreness, menstrual pain, upper respiratory tract infections, cough, and bronchitis. Ginger is also sometimes used for chest pain, low back pain, and stomach pain.
Some people pour the fresh juice on their skin to treat burns. The oil made from ginger is sometimes applied to the skin to relieve pain. In foods and beverages, ginger is used as a flavoring agent. In manufacturing, ginger is used as for fragrance in soaps and cosmetics. One of the chemicals in ginger is also used as an ingredient in laxative, anti-gas, and antacid medications. Enhancing fertility programs with natural fertilizers and soil amendments will increase plants health and resistance to all types of pests in your home or garden including weeds and Chapter Ill – Methodology Materials: chopping board Ginger spray bottles vinegar knife measuring cups water spoons Procedures: 1 Collect or prepare the materials needed. Chop the ginger. 3 Put 3 tablespoons of the chopped ginger inside the 4 spray bottles evenly. 4 In the 1st spray bottle pour 2 cups of vinegar inside, in the 2nd spray bottle add 2 cups of vinegar and h cup of water, in the 3rd spray bottle put 2 cups of vinegar and 1 cup of water, and in the 4th bottle put 2 cups of vinegar and 1 h cup of water. 5 After putting the ingredients in each perspective bottle try several trials in your garden. Find out which is the more effective among the trials. Record your observation. Reservation, analysis, and interpretation of the data gathered. In this part you will determine the percentage on how the researchers’ product is effective upon using and which among the 4 trials are effective. Chapter V- Conclusion In this project the researchers have formulated an organic insecticide which is effective on all sorts of insects. In the research we have done we have come to this point which we have learned and discovered that what we have made is very much effective. The trials and research proves that this product can be of good use especially on your garden.
With this organic insecticide you can now take care of your garden the natural way without using those other insecticides that contain toxic chemicals which can help lessen your problem towards those insects but can also destroy or environment. Because of this product you can now protect your garden from certain insects but you can also lessen the problem of our environment because of this product. Chapter FL- Recommendation More than 1,000 Filipino people die in a year because of dengue. This has been a big issue in our society, specially, on the health of our young once that has been resolve.
Now, the time has come to slowly put and to this deadly insects. Now, invention has occurred to be made to reduce the population of dengue causing mosquitoes. We would like to recommend our newest contribution to our society to reduce and may avoid the cause of dengue. We recommend this product not only to our fellow students but also to everyone so that they could use this as an alternative for mosquito repellent, rather than using toxic insecticide. Since this is easy to make and it is not harmful to our health for it is made out of vinegar and ginger.
