Although poverty affects all age groups, children are especially affected because they are dependent on adults for their survival. The way to rectify poverty in Belize is by improving the educational system that’s currently in Belize so that these poverty stricken children will be able to escape this horrendous ordeal. This can be done if the Government of Belize duplicates and executed a successful poverty alleviation strategy from other third world and developing countries.

By doing this, poverty in Belize can be alleviated drastically. The aim is to find out if poverty has an effect on these students and if poverty and other problems associated with poverty would be alleviated if they were given the opportunity to continue higher learning. Data Collection Method Research Design Setting & Participants Sample Variables The research study will be done using a mixture of both the qualitative and were given government aid and the progress of public workers and unemployed in the highly concentrated impoverish communities in Belize.

The research questions will be answered using both quantitative and qualitative data. The research design will consist of questionnaires, surveys, checklists and open-ended questions. Informed consent will be obtained from parents or legal guardians, and an incentive will be used so that students will be motivated to get their informed consent papers signed. The second section of the survey will be done in other selected low income neighborhoods in the various districts. Two hundred employed and unemployed adults will be selected to participate and will be required to sign a consent form. The sample technique that will be used for this research proposal will be stratified random sample.

The population will be separated into mutually exclusive sets and then simple random samples will be drawn from each stratum. After the population has been stratified, simple random sampling will be used to generate the complete sample. Data Presentation & Analysis The data presentation for the research proposal will be given in two sections; the first section that would be analyzed is the student’s responses and the second is the public workers responses. A short statement will be given as to why the survey was conducted; a description of the respondents who participated will also be given, and conducted.

The data will be analyzed using Microsoft Excels Data Analysis option. Visual aids such as tables, illustrations, and graphs enhance the process of presenting research results. These types of visual aids will allow the presenter to be more effective and to capture the audience’s full attention. The questionnaires will e reviewed, encompassing the questionnaires and open-ended questions and one general comments section. The first question in the questionnaire asked how poverty affected the respondent and their family.

Given the wide range of possible answers, four levels of impact will be developed: greatly, moderately, slightly and not at all. All of the responses to this question will be assigned to one of these categories. Because of lack of finance to hire professional researchers to assist in the research, there is a probability of incorrect measurements being taken. There is also a probability of mistakes being made during transcription from primary sources, inaccurate recording of data due to misinterpretation of terms, or inaccurate responses to questions concerning sensitive issues. Although it’s impossible to eliminate poverty completely, by implementing a strategic educational system, poverty can be alleviated. It is evident that the role of education is important in providing a route out of poverty.
