Rhinoplasty Surgery in
Are you unhappy with the shape, size or angle of your nose? Is your
nose too large, too small or flat? Do
you have breathing issues due to irregularities inside your nose? If so, you
are at the right place. Many people may find their nose to be disproportionate
with their rest of the face and that’s why they choose Rhinoplasty surgery.
What is Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, also known as nose
surgery is one of the most common cosmetic procedures. Dr. Jennifer Levine
is an expert Rhinoplasty surgeon in NYC who reshapes or resizes the
nose, making it harmoniously complement the other facial features. Dr. Jennifer Levine believes that even the
smallest of changes in the nasal form can greatly enhance the face. She uses
the best and most advanced surgical techniques to sculpt the nose for an
attractive and natural look. Also, being a board certified Otolaryngologist, or
ENT (ear, nose and throat), surgeon as well as a plastic surgeon, she is the
best in fixing the external cosmetic aspects of the nose, while also
specializing in preserving and improving the internal anatomy to help
Top Rhinoplasty specialist, Dr.Levine, may use one of two techniques: an open or closed Rhinoplasty, when performing the
nose surgery. In an open Rhinoplasty,
an inconspicuous incision is made externally, on the narrow tissue between the
nostrils, also referred to as the Columella, as well as an incision on the
inside. In a closed Rhinoplasty,
incisions are made only within the nostrils, having no external scar. With both
techniques, the soft tissues that cover the nose are gently elevated, giving Dr.
Levine access to sculpt the bone and cartilage. Depending on the desired result
of the nose job, cartilage may be removed or added using additional cartilage
taken from the Septum. After Dr. Levine has rearranged and reshaped the bone
and cartilage, as needed, the skin and tissues are re-draped over the new
frame. A small splint is applied to the outside of the nose to help with
swelling and to support the new shape of the nose while it heals.
Wondering which Rhinoplasty procedure is better for you? Dr.Levine, the expert for Rhinoplasty in NYC believes
both the procedures are equally right. It depends upon the complexity of the patients’
nose that which procedure works for them.
Rhinoplasty Consultation Process
Consultation is the time when you can understand whether
Rhinoplasty surgery is right for you or not. You can consult Dr. Jennifer in
person or via video conferencing (if you are an out of town patient). During
the consultation, Dr. Levine assesses your current nasal appearance and
determines the right Rhinoplasty surgery to achieve your goal.
Before Rhinoplasty Surgery, we gather your medical history,
including sinus infections, allergies, bleeding and other pains to ensure you
are in good health for the procedure. Two weeks prior to and following the
procedure, you are generally asked to abstain from aspirin, Advil, Motrin and
Aleve. Depending on your medical history, there may be additional instructions
to adhere to prior to the procedure.
Rhinoplasty surgery takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Most of the
incisions are made inside the nose, but in a few cases a small incision may be made
near the base of the nose or on its natural creases. The incisions heal quickly
and don’t leave any scars. At the end of the surgery, a cast is placed on the
nose, which is removed in a week.
After the nose job surgery, there may be minor
pain and discomfort. Some people may find difficulty in breathing through their
nose for a few days. Within a week or two, the swelling improves, which makes
breathing easier. Some bruising and swelling can occur around the eyes after the
nose job surgery. Once the swelling begins to subside, patients are able to see
improvements from their surgery. Patients should refrain from any strenuous
activity for three weeks and avoid any contact sport for 6 weeks.
Am I the right candidate for Rhinoplasty?

may be partially or fully covered by the insurance. The exact cost depends on
