The predominant religion in the United Kingdom was Christianity for over 1,400 years, but, unfortunately, it is in decline these days. The Church of England is the state or established the church. Also, the Church of England is for an international Anglican Communion. It fragments its history to the Christian church recorded in the Roman province of Britain by the third century, and Roman church splits for the Church of England. Henry VIII created the Church of England because his first wife Catherine of Aragon had borne him the only daughter, so he wanted to annul his marriage. To divorce Catherine, he needed the permission of the church which was controlled by the Pope in Rome and he refused. Anne Boleyn gave Henry VIII a book was written by William Tyndale. Tyndale wanted a new kind of Christianity without Pope. The king realized if there was no Pope he got his divorce. All in all, he became the only supreme head of Church of England called Anglicana Ecclesia. He set the work destroying other churches and killed people who didn’t change Christianity religion or other. People could be with God only through the church, through the priest and there was nothing separating people from God and this idea gave them hope. Henry VIII did the Church of England as the most important church and it started to be progressive. The Queen Elizabeth II is head of Church of England and it is famous because of her power. She has important constitutional relationships with the Established Churches of England and Scotland. The church is progressive because of queen monarchy. In 1895 Arthur Winnington-Ingram asserted ‘It is not that the Church of God has lost the great towns; it has never had them.’ He focused on the needs of the Church of England, which was showing signs of reversing the decline. Between 1990 and 2010 the amount of people attending the church on Sunday has increased to 8.3%. It seems that the environs of ‘gold town’ of Arthur Winnington-Ingram have since placed in church growth. The Church of England is state church; moreover, its bishops use to perform state weddings and funerals, memorial services. Moreover, it is led by bishops and decided by General Synod. The General Synod meets in London or York twice a year. The Church of England is responsible for more than 16,000 churches and 42 Cathedrals in England. In 2002 The Church of England allows for the gay priest till he is celibate, so the government wants to increase the number of ordinands. Nowadays, Church of England is tried to increase the proportion of younger ordinands, who should be under the age of 32, and they want the gender balance. ‘Progress in these areas will be monitored and reported annually, along with a review of the Church of England’s deployment needs’, the Church of England person said.
From 6th century till now the Church of England is so progressive and the state church of United Kingdom.
